I know that it has been awhile since the blog has seen any types of activity, but things have been very, very busy with Dawson-Boyd Bands!
Thursday, November 10th marked our first public performance of the year, as the junior high band, senior high jazz band, and senior high concert band performed in the Fall Band Concert. The groups performed very well and I am proud of how far each of the groups have come. If you missed the concert, or would like to listen again, the concert is archived on The Cube. Follow the link below to check it out:
On Friday, November 11th, the Senior High Band performed at the Veterans Day Program, along with the Senior High Choir. The performance was filled with patriotic tunes, which helped us to reflect on those who have served our country and those we have lost from doing so. If you would like to watch the program back, follow this link:
Now, in what seems like the blink of an eye, we have a winter wonderland outside! Can you believe how quickly the switch got turned from warm fall weather to blizzard conditions that resulted in our first snow day? What a beautiful sight, and a great way to ease the transition into working on the music for the Christmas Concert, which will be held on Monday, December 12th at 7:30 pm.
Before we know it, Christmas break will be here...enjoy your one day week of classes, students! Parents, hope to see you at conferences on Monday evening or Tuesday during the day! Monday and Tuesday from 3:30-7:30 pm will be held in the gym and 7:30 am - 3:30 pm on Tuesday will be held in regular classrooms.
Go grab a cup of hot cocoa, enjoy the snowy scenery, and take the time to have meaningful conversations and laughs with your families over the Thanksgiving holiday!
